Learn Python / ArcServer to Setup a Property Tax Application

A primary financial driver of cities and counties is property taxes. A central map of parcels and ownership is used by a tax assessor as well as queried by the public, commercial developers, and real estate appraisers. This course will show you how to extract, transfer, and load (ETL) spatial data through a Python Data workflow. Going further, you will setup an ArcGIS Server application to host this data in AWS for public query and give you a string of competitive skillsets that every city and county needs.

Don’t settle for training that’s driven by people who don’t run projects.

When you learn from a Bootcamp GIS expert you get:

About the Instructor

Imtiaz Syed is a GIS development professional with a Masters in GIS Technology and 8+ years’ hands on experience with desktop, web and mobile development, and solutions architecture. He worked as a developer for Esri and is now an IT consultant working for Google on automation for data pipelines. He is an expert using Python to help automate and scale data operations (GIS) to improve performance of an enterprise (3GIS + ArcGIS) stack supporting 1000+ users. He programs a Google Analytics dashboard to work with JavaScript based 3-GIS built on top of Portal for ArcGIS being used for a Fiber Management System. And now he is setting up GIS enterprise architecture on GCP.

  • Why my course is useful

Every city and county must maintain parcel and ownership with high integrity. Recently its been essential that this information is served to the public. Learning to handle this data with dynamic property valuation is a mission that requires technical staff with the IT/GIS skillsets we demonstrate in this course.

  • Why I built it

I got my Master's in GIS and thought I could immediately apply my skills. And as I took on consulting jobs, I found I was needing to do more focused learning than I had done in college. Because I was a quick learner, I found that I had more knowledge in GIS architecture than anyone else in the county GIS department. So the capability of standing up web map services is something I wanted to share.

  • What I hope for you

I hope to give you confidence that you can learn 3 key skills: managing data, running Python scripts, setting up AWS Map Services. After you add these to your portfolio, you are going to be the person everyone needs to keep your online maps running.
