  • Workflow for sustainable rooftop gardens

    Deploy GeoAI for sustainable rooftops

    $697.00

Cities have large amounts of rooftop space that can support sustainability goals, but the best use varies from one building to another. This hands-on course teaches you to build a city-scale rooftop sustainability decision-support workflow using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, GeoAI, and ArcGIS Data Pipelines. Using New York City as the case study, you will create a rooftop inventory and build two screening models from the same building data: solar suitability and green-roof suitability, each classified as High, Moderate, or Low. You will use a pretrained Esri AI model to identify existing solar installations, compare the two suitability outputs, publish the results to a web map and dashboard, and update the inventory as buildings, permits, zoning, or rooftop installations change. Blue (rainwater-retention) roofs and community rooftops are introduced as extensions of the same framework.

  • Xericaping informed by mapped priorities

Turn climate change models to a local action plan with GeoAI

    $697.00

Is your city ready for a changing climate? Global projections are only useful once they are turned into local, mappable insights that decision-makers can act on. This course teaches the fundamentals of translating global climate science into a local action plan your community can use. You will access and downscale climate scenarios from global models (CMIP6); identify and map key climate risks, including extreme heat, drought, wildfire, inland flooding, and coastal flooding; assess vulnerability and exposure; and translate that analysis into an actionable, GIS-driven climate action plan.
